1. How Powder Coating Colors Fade – The Mechanism
Powder coating is a dry paint. You spray it on the metal part. Then you bake it in an oven. The powder melts into a solid film. This film has two parts: resin (the binder) and pigment (the color). Sunlight attacks both.
UV Radiation Is the Main Culprit
The sun sends ultraviolet (UV) light. UV light has high energy. It breaks chemical bonds in the resin. The resin becomes brittle and chalky. It also breaks down the pigment molecules. The color changes. UV is the biggest reason for fading.

High Durability Colors (Recommended)
