Stainless steel sheets are versatile and commonly used in the construction, automotive, and manufacturing industries due to their durability and corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel is divided into:
① ferritic stainless steel
② Austenitic stainless steel
③ Martensitic stainless steel
④ Austenite-ferrite duplex stainless steel
⑤ Precipitation hardened stainless steel (PH)
According to the main chemical composition of steel is divided into:
① Chromium (equivalent to the American AISI400 series, including martensitic stainless steel and ferritic stainless steel)
② Chromium-nickel series (including American AISI300 series, 200 series, 600 series, duplex stainless steel)

The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) classification and main grades are as follows:
200 Series - Chromium-nickel-manganese austenitic stainless steel
300 Series - Chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel
Model 302 - Same corrosion resistance as 304, better strength due to higher carbon content.
Model 303 - By adding a small amount of sulfur and phosphorus to make it easier to cut than 304.
Model 304 - Universal model; 18/8 stainless steel. The GB brand is 0Cr18Ni9.
Model 309 - Better temperature resistance than 304.
Model 316 - The second most widely used steel grade after 304, mainly used in the food industry and surgical equipment, adding molybdenum to give it a special structure that is resistant to corrosion. Because it has better resistance to chloride corrosion than 304, it is also used as "Marine steel". SS316 is commonly used in nuclear fuel recovery units. Grade 18/10 stainless steel is also usually suitable for this application level.
Model 321 - Similar in performance to 304 except for the addition of titanium which reduces the risk of corrosion in the weld of the material.
400 Series - Ferritic and martensitic stainless steel
Model 409 - The cheapest model (Anglo-American), commonly used as an automobile exhaust pipe, is ferritic stainless steel (chromium steel).
Model 410 - Martensite (high strength chromium steel), good wear resistance, poor corrosion resistance.
Model 416 - Added sulfur improves the processing properties of the material.
Model 420 - "Tool grade" martensitic steel, similar to Brinell high chromium steel, the earliest stainless steel. Also used in surgical knives, can be made very bright.
Model 430 - Ferritic stainless steel, for decorative purposes, e.g. for automotive accessories. Good formability, but poor temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.
Model 440 - High strength cutting tool steel, slightly higher carbon content, after appropriate heat treatment can obtain high yield strength, hardness can reach 58HRC, is one of the hardest stainless steel. The most common example is the "razor blade". There are three common models: 440A, 440B, 440C, and 440F(easy to process).
500 Series - Heat-resistant chrome alloy steel
600 Series - Precipitation hardened stainless steel
Model 631 - usually called 17-7PH.
