Profiles refer to aluminum alloy profiles, but there is a big misunderstanding here for people who have just entered the line, aluminum profiles are also called aluminum alloy profiles, but it is not aluminum alloy, you can simply understand the two biggest difference between aluminum and aluminum profiles is that the shape is not the same, aluminum alloy is a material, but aluminum profiles are already processed products, can be used directly.

The first to understand the formation of aluminum profiles is the three processes of aluminum ingots/rods through melting casting, extrusion and surface treatment. Aluminum profiles with different section shapes are obtained. Aluminum ingots, aluminum rod, aluminum is that all the raw material, 8 and 12 meters in length, diameter D90mm, D105mm, D120mm, D178mm these four, 6063 material is the domestic routine.

1. Melting casting is the first process of aluminum production, the main process for batching, melting, casting.

2. Extrusion is the means of profile forming, first through the section design to create a mold, and then extruded the heated round casting rod from the mold.

3. Surface treatment is to treat the surface of the profile, generally commonly used is anodized aluminum, giving people a sandy surface, bright white and oxidized coloring surface visual effect.

Industrial aluminum profile

Finished aluminum profiles can be divided into two categories, one is architectural aluminum profiles, mainly used in our daily life, such as aluminum doors and Windows, aluminum curtain walls can be seen everywhere in our lives; The other is industrial aluminum profiles, mainly used for industrial production and manufacturing, such as automated mechanical equipment, the skeleton of the protective cover and the company according to its own mechanical equipment requirements customized mold, such as conveyor belts, elevators, dispensing machines, testing equipment, shelves, etc., the electronic machinery industry and clean rooms are mostly used.

Brief description of aluminum profile production process

Melting casting is the first process of aluminum production, the main process are:

(1) Ingredients: According to the specific combination number that needs to be produced, the addition amount of various alloy components is calculated, and various raw materials are reasonably matched.

(2) Smelting: the prepared raw materials are added to the melting furnace according to the process requirements, and the impurities and gases in the melt are effectively removed by degassing and slagging refining.

(3) Casting: Molten aluminum is cooled into various specifications of round casting rods through deep well casting system under certain casting process conditions.

Extrusion

Extrusion is the means of forming profiles. Firstly, according to the section of the profile product, the mold is designed and manufactured, and the heated round casting rod is extruded from the mold by an extruder. The commonly used grade 6063 alloy also uses an air-cooled quenching process during extrusion and a subsequent artificial aging process to complete the heat treatment strengthening. Different grades of heat-treatable strengthened alloys have different heat treatment regimes.

Coloring (mainly talking about the oxidation process here)

Oxidation: The surface corrosion resistance of the extruded aluminum alloy profile is not strong, and the surface treatment must be carried out by anodizing to increase the corrosion resistance, wear resistance and appearance of the aluminum.

The main process is:

(1) Surface pretreatment: The surface of the profile is cleaned by chemical or physical methods to expose a pure matrix to facilitate the complete and dense artificial oxide film. Mirror or matte (matte) surfaces can also be obtained by mechanical means.

(2) Anodizing: After surface pretreatment of the profile, under certain process conditions, the substrate surface anodizing occurs, generating a dense, porous, strong adsorption Al2O3 film.

(3) Sealing: the pores of the porous oxide film generated after anodic oxidation are closed to enhance the anti-pollution, anti-corrosion and anti-wear properties of the oxide film. The oxide film is colorless and transparent, using the strong adsorption property of the oxide film before sealing the hole, adsorbing and depositing some metal salts in the film hole, which can make the appearance of the profile show many colors other than the natural color (silver white), such as: black, bronze, gold and stainless steel color.
