Spot welding is a common metal welding method. It usually uses an electrode with high conductivity to apply pressure on the contact surface, and partially heats the two metal parts through an arc on the contact surface to form small and deep grooves, melt them, and then cool them naturally to form welds. In addition, the diameter of the weld is usually less than 2 mm. Spot welding is a spatial distribution of multiple welds produced by periodically generating voltage, current or energy within a certain period of time.
As a common welding technology, spot welding has the following advantages:
1. Fast speed: Spot welding can complete the welding process quickly, and each weld only takes tens of milliseconds to complete. Therefore, it can be used for mass production, which greatly improves production efficiency.
2. Small melting amount: Spot welding only generates a lot of heat at the welding site, and the surrounding areas are hardly affected. Therefore, the material at the welding site will only melt locally, avoiding the possibility of overheating in a large area, which is not easy to cause deformation or other damage.
3. No other materials are required: Unlike other mechanical processing, such as screw or nut welding, spot welding does not require additional materials to connect two metal parts. This makes spot welding very effective in terms of cost and material usage.
4. High welding strength: During the spot welding process, the pressure and current intensity of the welding gun can be precisely controlled, so that the strength and quality of the weld are guaranteed.
5. Applicable to metals such as iron, copper, and aluminum: Since spot welding can control the size and shape of the weld by changing the pressure and current intensity, it is very suitable when processing various metal materials. It can be used for seamless welding of iron, copper, aluminum and other metals.
