Mold steel is a special steel commonly used in mold manufacturing. It has the characteristics of high hardness, high strength, high wear resistance, high temperature strength, strong corrosion resistance, etc., which can meet the material requirements of molds during manufacturing and use.
Common mold steels include SKD11, P20, S136, NAK80, H13, 718, etc. Among them, SKD11 is a cold mold steel with high strength, toughness and heat resistance balance. P20 steel has good cutting performance and hardness, and is widely used in plastic molds, die-casting molds and other fields. S136 steel has high corrosion resistance and toughness, and is suitable for precision plastic molds and high-quality large molds. NAK80 steel has good wear resistance and strength at high temperatures, and is commonly used in hot die-casting molds, injection molds and other fields. H13 steel has high strength and high temperature strength, and is suitable for high-temperature molds such as die casting and extrusion. 718 steel has excellent heat resistance and high strength, and is suitable for automotive molds, aviation molds and other fields.
Compared with other carbon steels, mold steel has higher hardness and strength, better wear resistance and high temperature strength, so it has a longer service life and can better meet the requirements of mold processing.
