Electrophoresis refers to a surface coating technology that causes charged particles to be deposited from the electrode coating solution on the surface of the other electrode (workpiece) through an electric field. It mainly has the following steps:
1. Suspend the coating substance in the solution to form a coating solution.
2. Next, add electrolytes to the solution to make it a conductive liquid.
3. Before plating, spray the surface of the workpiece with a clean liquid to degrease, clean, and phosphate the surface to enhance the adhesion of the coating.
4. Use a DC power supply to make the nozzle's electrode connected to the workpiece have a positive electrode, the electrode plate is all at the negative electrode, and the clean liquid in the negatively charged funnel on the polarization plate is the cathode liquid.
5. When the charged particles are deposited on the cathode surface and become thicker, the coating is effectively deposited on the workpiece surface.
Electrophoresis is mainly used in the fields of automobiles, furniture, electrical appliances, construction, machinery, and aerospace. Its advantages include:
1. Uniform coating: Electrophoresis can achieve uniform coating on the surface of the workpiece.
2. Strong coating adhesion: The coating is in full contact with the workpiece surface, and the adhesion and corrosion resistance are relatively good.
3. Automation of the spraying process: Electrophoretic coating can be automatically sprayed by a machine, which improves production efficiency and work safety.
4. Bad parts can also be coated: Electrophoretic coating can be applied to the corners (such as the corners of the workpiece) and the waistline, which improves the integrity of the sprayed coating.
5. Environmentally friendly: No harmful chemicals are required during the electrophoretic coating process, which helps protect the environment.
