Design & DFM Analysis
We review your 2D drawings or 3D models with a focus on drilling characteristics to ensure manufacturability. Our engineers provide expert Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback, emphasizing key factors such as hole diameter tolerance, hole position accuracy, and chip evacuation design. This helps optimize your part for cost, performance, and quality in the context of drilling processes.
Material Selection
We use certified raw materials from trusted suppliers. You can specify a material, or we can recommend the optimal one (e.g., Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Plastics) based on your application requirements, with special consideration for how material hardness and toughness affect drill bit wear and hole wall quality during drilling.
CAM Programming
Our programmers use advanced software (like Mastercam or PowerMill) to create efficient drilling toolpaths. We focus on optimizing drilling parameters such as rotational speed and feed rate, and run thorough simulations for chip evacuation paths, especially in deep hole drilling, to prevent errors like drill jamming and ensure the drilling process is flawless before it begins.
Precision Machining
The programmed instructions are sent to our state-of-the-art CNC drilling machines and deep hole drilling machines. We strategically select cutting tools such as high-speed steel drills and carbide drills based on the material, to accurately drill holes in the solid block of material, ensuring hole perpendicularity and surface roughness meet requirements.
Quality Inspection
Quality is integrated throughout the process. We perform a First Article Inspection (FAI) using precision equipment like CMMs to verify critical drilling dimensions, including hole diameter tolerance, hole position deviation, hole depth accuracy, and hole wall roughness. In-process checks are conducted during production runs to ensure consistency.
Final Audit & Packaging
Every finished batch undergoes a final quality audit, with a focus on checking the consistency of holes and ensuring no deformation. Parts are carefully cleaned and packaged to prevent damage during shipping, with special attention to avoiding extrusion that could alter hole dimensions, ensuring they arrive at your facility perfectly.
